Big Energy Saving Network
We had two champions who were part of the Government funded Big Energy Saving Network. We provided one-to-one switching advice to over 200 residents across Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes. Residents who switched saved an average of £160 off their energy bills, with some saving as much £500!
Better Housing, Better Health
Our Better, Housing, Better Health project was aimed at residents with cardiovascular or respiratory health conditions. Over 100 households received grants to make their home warmer and healthier, while over 500 residents received advice on switching provider and income maximisation from Citizens Advice which cleared over 50,000 of fuel debt.
Green Deal Communities
A partnership of 14 local authorities across Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Hertfordshire. The project provided over £2 million of Department of Energy and Climate Change money towards over 550 installations comprising mainly of solid wall insulation but also including 150 other energy efficiency measures.
Keeping Kids Cosy
Keeping Kids Cosy (KKC) was an extension of our BHBH project but targeted towards families with children aged 5 and under. It focused across our BHBH area but also included Milton Keynes. It had a small grant element which could be used towards loft or cavity wall insulation, small measures such as draught-proofing, heating controls or thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs), or a house-warming hamper full of energy efficiency goods such as an energy monitor, LED lightbulbs, radiator reflector foil and draught-proofing tape. The project was proudly funded by Scottish Power Energy Peoples Trust.
